The family business Ensto has acquired Alppilux Oy, a privately owned Finnish manufacturer of energy-efficient lighting solutions.

The acquisition enables Ensto to strengthen its status as the leading Finnish manufacturer of lighting solutions. “The goal is to strengthen our market position in the rapidly developing lighting business – especially as a supplier of LED lighting solutions – in all our market areas,” says Timo Luukkainen, President and CEO of Ensto.

“As two major players join forces, the result is a more competitive operator focused on lighting solutions and, thanks to the organizational gains, one that is better able to utilize its expertise. This is also an excellent opportunity for growth in the international market,” Timo Luukkainen continues.

The acquisition significantly expands Ensto's product selection, which now comprises a comprehensive solution range for both indoor and outdoor lighting as well as satisfies the needs of residential and business construction. The focus of our product development will continue to be in high-quality innovative lighting technologies and energy efficiency.

Alppilux Oy will continue to be headed by CEO Sami Tulus. Employing approximately 70 people in Finland, Estonia and Sweden, the turnover of Alppilux is EUR 13.5 million. The company has a production facility in Lohja, Finland, and another in Paide, Estonia.
