Warm welcome to new Solar Traders in Greece!
All good things come in threes: After welcoming new Solar Trade colleagues in Austria and Latvia, now a warm welcome to new Solar Traders in Greece!
Solar Trade continues its expansion by entering the Greek market and thereby strengthes its presence in Southeast Europe.
The expansion to Greece already started in December 2022 when Charilaos Christidis (called Haris), the designated Managing Director of the new entity, took first steps to build up the new business from scratch. He e.g. hired his first two employees, Gianna Nakou as Supply Chain & Product Manager and Panagiotis Makrialeas (Panos) as IT Manager.
From 6th till 10th of March 2023, the three of them visited Tübingen. Goal of the visit was to get in touch with colleagues from the different departments to understand the organisational set-up of the German Solar Trade entity and how people work together. Networking with their German counterparts, learning from them and getting to know processes and best practices was key.
And what a coincidence: During their time in Tübingen, a major milestone had been accomplished: The new company “BayWa r.e. Solar Systems Single Member S.A.” was finally established officially!
Perfect timing as the trade show Fair VerdeTec took place Mid of March and provided an excellent platform to communicate the market entry of our new entity. At the same time the government announced their subsidy program for residential roofs with storage systems. Promising and sunny prospects! With a top position in the hall, a representative eye-catching booth and above all a highly motivated team, BayWa r.e. became the “talk of the town”. The Greek colleagues had the pleasure to present to their visitors, mainly installers and system integrators, high-quality products from eleven different brands. Also the novotegra team seized the opportunity and was present at the BayWa r.e. booth in Athens.
What comes next?
Just this week Styliani Karavasili (Stella) joined the team and will hold the position of a sales engineer. Stay tuned for more to come in the area of finance, logistics and marketing. Soon the ERP system AP+ and the Greek warehouse will be in place, getting ready to set foot in the Greek market, which offers great business opportunities in a favorable political environment. We are looking forward to seeing the Greek team gain traction and rock the local PV market! Let’s bring PV to a lot of roofs in Greece!
