The Fronius Smart Meter IP 5kA-3 is a bidirectional three-phase smart meter for Fronius PV systems, measuring all energy flows to and from the grid to enable monitoring, self-consumption optimization, and energy management via Fronius Solar.web. It's a CT-based meter covering primary currents up to 5,000A (1PN/2PN/3PN grids, 100–240V / 3×208–480V) using external 333mV-output current transformers. It meters active energy to Class 1 (EN 62053-21) / Class B (EN 50470-3) and reactive to Class 2. Its standout feature is connectivity: Modbus RTU (RS485) plus Modbus TCP over WiFi and LAN, so it integrates over the network as well as by serial link. DIN-rail mounted (3 modules), rated IP20 front / IP30 terminals, for indoor use across −25 to +55 °C.
