The Fronius Tauro ECO 50-3-D is a three-phase string inverter with 50 kW AC nominal output for large-scale commercial and utility PV systems, built in Austria as a project inverter for centralised or decentralised, vertical or horizontal installation. It uses 1 MPP tracker with a 580–1000 V DC input range, a usable MPP range of 580–930 V, max input current of 87,5 A and up to 75 kWp PV generator power, with 14 DC connections on the 20 A string option via Stäubli MC4 direct connection. Efficiency reaches 98,5% maximum and 98,2% European efficiency, and Active Cooling Technology combined with the Double-Wall System holds full output up to 50 °C ambient across an operating range of -40 °C to +65 °C. Protection is integrated: DC disconnector, RCMU, DC insulation measurement, DC/AC surge protection Type 1+2 (Iimp 5 kA) and string fuses (20 A or 30 A); AFCI (Fronius Arc Guard) is available as an option for the 20 A string version. Communication covers Wi-Fi and Ethernet with Fronius Solar.web, Modbus TCP SunSpec, Solar API (JSON), 2× RS485 Modbus RTU SunSpec, Wired Shutdown, 6 digital inputs / 6 digital I/Os and an integrated datalogger and webserver.
