GoodWe is expanding the possibilities of residential energy storage with the new ESA Athena S3, a compact all-in-one micro storage system designed for homes where a conventional battery installation may not be practical.

Athena S3 supports both traditional wired installation and plug-in connection through a standard EU household socket. This makes the system suitable not only for houses, but also for apartments, balconies, terraces and other residential environments where installation space is limited.

Energy storage for a wider range of homes

Two connection options

ESA Athena S3 supports two installation modes: conventional wired installation and plug-in connection through a standard household socket.

This opens up new storage possibilities for projects where installing a conventional battery system may be difficult or impractical, including apartments, rental properties and buildings without a dedicated technical room.

Simplified installation

The modular blind-mate design is intended to make installation faster and easier.

Individual modules weigh less than 29 kg, allowing the system to be handled by one installer. GoodWe specifies an installation time of as little as 5 minutes.

Wireless parallel connection also allows up to four units to be linked without additional communication cabling.

Designed for residential environments

Quiet operation

Athena S3 features a fanless design with operating noise below 20 dB.

This makes it suitable for installations where low noise levels and compact system design are important.

Integrated safety

The system uses a below 60 V DC touch-safe architecture, together with built-in aerosol fire protection and six layers of system protection.

These features are particularly relevant for a storage solution designed for use close to residential living areas.

Flexible power and storage capacity

ESA Athena S3 offers 0.8 kW / 3 kW output with expandable storage capacity from 3 to 15 kWh.

GoodWe's Mix & Match concept allows existing and new battery modules to be combined, enabling the system to grow together with the customer's future energy requirements.

Key system capabilities include:

• 4 MPPTs
• up to 1.6 times DC oversizing
• expandable capacity from 3 to 15 kWh
• wireless parallel connection of up to 4 units

This flexibility also makes Athena S3 suitable for installations with more complex PV layouts, including balcony solar applications.

 

Built for colder conditions

Integrated battery heating supports reliable operation down to -20 °C, making Athena S3 well suited to Baltic climate conditions.

The system comes with a 10-year warranty.

Energy monitoring and management are handled through SEMS+, including AI-based optimisation according to electricity tariffs and energy use.

GoodWe ESA Athena S3 pre-order

The first stock delivery is expected within up to 3 months from the opening of the pre-order period.
