BayWa r.e. Solar Trade and WHES announce exclusive partnership
BayWa r.e. Solar Trade, one of the world’s leading distributors of photovoltaic solutions, is expanding its offering in the commercial energy storage segment across Europe. As part of a strategic partnership with Tier-1 manufacturer WHES, the company will now distribute WHES battery storage systems in key European markets, with exclusive agreements in Germany, Italy, Belgium, Luxembourg, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Switzerland, as well as Lithuania, Greece, Albania, and Kosovo.
The systems are designed for Commercial & Industrial (C&I) applications and feature a modular all-in-one design. They integrate proprietary components for power conversion and energy management (PCS and EMS), along with battery modules from manufacturer and strategic shareholder CATL, recognized globally for quality, durability, and safety. The pre-assembled units are IP55-certified and suitable for outdoor use. The smart energy platform PANGU OS supports energy management and enables flexible scaling based on project size. Target customers include installers and EPCs.
“With WHES, we’ve gained a partner that meets our high standards for quality, safety, and system integration,” says Alexander Schütt, Chief Operating Officer at BayWa r.e. Solar Trade. “The systems are an excellent addition to our existing portfolio – both technically and strategically.”
“This agreement is a major milestone for WHES as we scale our commercial storage offering across Europe,” adds John Susa, Chief Sales Officer at WHES. “Partnering with BayWa r.e. Solar Trade gives us unmatched access to key regional markets and reinforces our shared vision of accelerating the clean energy transition with best-in-class technology and service.”
WHES solutions are now also available to our customers across the Baltics, including Latvia and Estonia, providing broader access to advanced energy storage technologies.
